One day during my first year of my university life, as usual, I walked back room together with my roommate, Qi Qing as well as some of my course mates after class. Along the way, we talked and we laughed. Suddenly, I halted because of a cute advertisement with cartoons drawn on it. At that moment, I really felt it was cute and colourful enough to grab my attention reading it. It was an advertisement looking for volunteers to teach the orphans. There was a contact person written on the advertisement, without further thinking, I copied the contact number.
Since then, I was introduced to a society in Taman University which it is known as World Carp. World Carp is a non-profitable society which originated from Korea, and it has branches over Malaysia.
There are many activities organized by World Carp. The most active doing under World Carp is the teaching session given to the orphans for free (Ajar-ajar) which first and second year students are welcome to join this activity. Every Thursday evening, all the volunteers from UTM are gathered at the foyer of PSZ, where transports are provided, sending us to the orphanage in somewhere around Perling. With great interest and strong curiosity, my friend and I came to PSZ. At that moment, I found that there were quite a lot of students joining this meaningful activity.
When I first reached the orphanage, I was shocked there were a lot of them, and they were mostly orang asli, dark skin and skinny, while the volunteer-teachers were mostly Chinese. Furthermore, I was told that not all of them were really orphans; some of them were there because of poor family condition which could hardly raise them. I felt sore when knowing that fact. And I know I am already among the lucky one in this world. Or should I say we are actually the lucky one!! Be grateful!

While teaching them, the volunteers were not actually given a proper syllabus, but to help them in their homework. And it was amazed; we were just like their big brothers and sisters, guiding and sharing our experiences with them.
Besides, I joined a two-day workshop organized by World Carp too. The workshop was interesting and to be frankly I gained a lot from this workshop.
