Halo, guys..
I’m Helen Kong, 22 year-old. You guys can call me Helen or my Chinese name, Hai Liang.
What is the first thing come into your mind when knowing my name? Will you wonder: why is my name so short, still got other name behind? Or am I a Christian with a Christian name? Oops, I’m actually a Buddhist. But, please do not ask me why my name is so short or if there is still name behind my surname because I also do not really know it. My daddy gave me this name, and I love it. It is unique!
I come from Sarawak, Malaysia. I live in a town, which we call Sibu, the Swan City (but there is no even a single swan here??). However, I was not born in Sibu but in Kapit (another city in Sarawak). When I was young, my family moved quite frequently due to my daddy’s job. My family settled in Sibu only when I was at my age of 8 and since then I received my primary and secondary education in Sibu, SJK (C) Thai Kwang and SMK Chung Hua, respectively. Then I further my study in Labuan Matriculation College before I entered Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, taking the course of chemical engineering.
I am a talkative girl. Yes, I know I am, but I guess only to my close friends. I am quiet while facing strangers in a new environment. I feel shy talking to people which I do not really know. However, I think I shall work hard to adapt the new environment fast since I am going out to the real working world soon which communication skill is utmost important. I am an ordinary Taurus girl, who likes to eat so much (my friends should know this well). For me, eating is one of the happiest happening in my life. I can hardly resist delicious food and I like to explore new food. Basically, I like spicy food. Hmmm… Yummy.. Yummy..
I like to smile or even laugh out loud. As for me, laughter is the best medicine. To be optimistic, then only we can face the coming challenges everyday. As long as we are still alive, be thankful; thank for the sunshine, thank for the rain fall, thank even for the pains and tears we have as they are the significant proof that we are still alive and able to pick up the challenge.
